This is the little black dress of the dessert world.

The classic Austrian torte from 1832 is famous around the world, and is still made today at the fabulous Hotel Sacher in Vienna.

Sublime dark chocolate cake -- somehow dense and light at the same time -- a thin layer of apricot or raspberry jam, and a sumptuous coating of dark chocolate ganache. Pure sophistication, utter indulgence.
